Virtual: Behavior Intervention Series with Pathways to Inclusive Education's Kelly Miller (Autism and Behavior Specialist)

April 9, 16, 23, 30, 2025 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. online

Kelly Miller is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Autism Consultant. Her practical and hands-on experience spans two decades, including mental health and school settings. Kelly works to expand teacher’s instructional repertoires to encompass not only academic, but social, emotional, and behavioral systems of support. With a focus of maximizing positive behavior momentum in the classroom, educators will reclaim valuable learning time. Kelly coaches and provides live modeling and support within the classroom. Workshops are rooted in inclusive practices, enabling teachers to develop their own “take away toolkit” full of evidence-based strategies that can be immediately applied in their classroom. Join Kelly for a transformative series designed to empower Montana's educators by offering a sequence of dynamic online workshops that provide easy-to-understand, relevant, and applicable tools. Perfect for any school employee that works with students! You can either register for the individual workshops that apply to your needs or you can sign up for all 4 and receive a 10% discount. 

Four 1-Hour Workshops
  1. Workshop 1:  April 9 (4-5 PM)  - Understanding Functions of Behavior
    Behavior is defined as any observable action, it is neither positive or negative,
    it is just what we do.  Understanding what happens after behavior gives us clues about what we should be doing. This is what we mean when we describe behavior as having a function. Come learn about functions of behavior and how to select the most effective intervention based on what you are observing . 
    This session will be the foundation for the following three sessions. Practitioners that are newer to the science of behavior will get an orientation to functions of behavior. Experienced coaches and practitioners will learn new ways to teach colleagues about these concepts.
  2. Workshop 2: April 16 (4-5 PM)- Attention/Connection-Based Strategies and Interventions
    What do you do with attention or connection based behaviors. Function based strategies are evidence based and are the most effective way to support classroom behavior. Attention based strategies focus on preventing behavior with connection and supporting new ways to help students get their needs met without disrupting the learning environment. This session is filled with quick and easy attention hacks to bring to the classroom tomorrow . 
  3. Workshop 3:  April 23 (4-5 PM) - Escape Maintained Strategies and Interventions
    What do you do with attention or connection based behaviors. Function based strategies are evidence based and are the most effective way to support classroom behavior. Attention based strategies focus on preventing behavior with connection and supporting new ways to help students get their needs met without disrupting the learning environment. This session is filled with quick and easy attention hacks to bring to the classroom tomorrow.
  4. Workshop 3:  April 30 (4-5 PM)  Access and Automatically Maintained Strategies & Interventions
    What do you do with access or automatic based behaviors. Function based strategies are evidence based and are the most effective way to support classroom behavior. Access and Automatic  based strategies focus on preventing behavior with connection and supporting new ways to help students get their needs met without disrupting the learning environment. This session is filled with quick and easy attention hacks to bring to the classroom tomorrow .
