Centered on Regulation and Co-Regulation by Ginger Healy, this PLC deepens understanding of how neuroscience informs education and, most importantly, how to put it into everyday practice.

Stacy is a licensed clinical social worker who got her start in school based mental health. She has a small private practice in Colorado and Wyoming. Stacy has spent the last several years traveling the country to train and educate professional educators on trauma-informed care. Stacy completed a grant project with Montana’s OPI that included the completion of a trauma-informed student handbook template. Stacy is familiar with the rural nature of Montana and all that goes with that in trying to meet the needs of a community. Stacy also serves as a Behavioral Health Officer in the Wyoming Army National Guard. This experience has provided Stacy with opportunities to work with higher level officials in problem solving hard, tough system issues.

- Approach: Grounded in adult-learning best practices—interactive discussion, reflective journaling, application tasks, and peer collaboration
Materials
- Required Text: Regulation and Co-Regulation by Ginger Healy
- Participant Responsibility: Participants are responsible for ordering/purchasing their own copy of the book prior to the start of the PLC.
Key Components
- Weekly Reading & Reflection: Read assigned sections, annotate key takeaways, and bring questions/insights.
- Guided Discussion: Facilitator-led conversations connecting the text to real classroom and school contexts.
- Application in Practice: Try strategies/tools between sessions; share what worked (or didn’t) the following week.
- Collaborative Resources: Shared digital folder for strategies, templates, and classroom-ready adaptations.
- Final Showcase: Participants share an action plan or strategy informed by PLC learning.
