Community Health Alliance (CHA) Health Grant

MTPLC Receives Community Health Alliance Grant
to Expand School Behavior Supports

The Montana Professional Learning Collaborative (MTPLC) is pleased to announce that it has received a $5,000 Community Health Alliance (CHA) Health Grant to expand behavior support services for rural, frontier, tribal, and Montana Small Schools Alliance (MSSA) schools across western Montana.

This funding will strengthen MTPLC's efforts to help schools address student behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs through evidence-based professional learning, coaching, consultation, and technical assistance. The project will be led by MTPLC's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Ashley Campbell, and will focus on building sustainable systems that support student success and educator effectiveness.

Through this grant, MTPLC will provide approximately 30 hours of direct behavior support services, including:
  • Professional learning focused on understanding behavior and implementing proactive supports
  • Coaching and consultation for school teams
  • Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Planning (BIPs)
  • Data-informed decision-making and progress monitoring
  • Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavior support strategies

Many rural and frontier schools face significant challenges accessing specialized behavioral health expertise. This funding helps bridge that gap by bringing practical, school-based supports directly to educators and students who need them most.

The project will prioritize support for MSSA member schools, reservation schools, and other high-need districts throughout western Montana. By increasing educator capacity and strengthening school systems, MTPLC aims to improve student engagement, school climate, and long-term outcomes for students.

MTPLC extends its sincere appreciation to the Community Health Alliance and its donors for investing in the well-being of Montana students, educators, and communities.
