MSSA Member School Membership
Membership Term & Policies
- Membership year runs July 1 – June 30 (school-year aligned).
- Benefits begin once dues are paid.
- Proration option (recommended for parity with SSoM):
- Join at mid-year = 50% dues for the remainder of the year.
- Join during the last quarter = membership extends through the following school year.
- Dues are non-refundable.
Rate Structure
To reduce barriers for Montana’s smallest and most rural/frontier schools, MTPLC offers a membership incentive for Montana Small Schools Alliance (MSSA) member schools.
MSSA Member School Membership Rate:
K-8 districts: $150 base + $1.25 per student (per-student fee cap at $125)
Districts with a High School: $300 base + $1.25 per student (per student fee cap at $500)
Includes (same as Basic Membership as listed below), plus MSSA-specific value:
- All Standard Member benefits (discounts, consultation credits, office hours)
- 50% off tuition/access to MTPLC’s August Institute
- Two additional hours of virtual consultation annually (total 4 hours) for:
- multi-grade instructional support
- teacher mentoring / resiliency supports
- behavior systems or Tier 1 consultation
- SPED alignment or case review support
MSSA member schools are often under 100 students and operate with very few staff, making it difficult to access professional learning, consultation, or specialized supports without flexible and low-cost options. This membership pathway ensures rural/frontier schools can participate and benefit meaningfully
