Stop School Violence Grant

Montana Professional Learning Collaborative MTPLC, also known as Montana Regional Education Service Area (RESA)V, is a 501(c)3 serving all Montana schools.  MTPLC administers the Stop School Violence Grant (SSV) - in partnership with the Montana Small Schools Alliance (MSSA).

​The SSV Grant encompasses three components (Montana Cares, MHRN, and E-Therapy):

• Targeted population: MSSA member and tribal schools
• FREE services provided to MSSA and tribal districts who are interested in Montana Cares:
• Montana Cares (Available to MSSA and non-MSSA districts)
• E-Therapy
• Mental Health Resource Navigator (MHRN)

Meaghan Houlihan Schrader

​Meaghan Schrader is an educator with 20 years of classroom experience in Title 1 schools, supporting students and families from diverse cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. From 2022 to 2024, Meaghan also served as Adjunct Professor of Methods of Instructional Strategies in Elementary Physical Education at the University of Montana’s College of Education. Throughout her career, Meaghan has led innovative community-centered programs to help connect parents, teachers, and service providers to ensure support for the whole child. She has worked at the elementary, middle school and high school level, and has taught social studies, health, physical education and technology. Meaghan specializes in social-emotional learning strategies, behavior management methodologies, differentiated instruction, experiential education, classroom management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. For her service to schools and educational communities locally, nationally and internationally, Meaghan has won a number of awards, including the Montana PTA Outstanding Educator of the Year (2019), Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisor of the Year (2020), SHAPE Montana Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year (2021), and the SHAPE America Western District Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year (2023). In addition to her classroom work, Meaghan is also experienced in designing and facilitating professional development training and workshops for teachers and administrators across the country. She focuses on building new skills and knowledge to better connect emerging research with proven best-practices. Born and raised in Missoula, MT, Meaghan holds a bachelor degree from the University of Montana and Master of Education from Montana State University Billings. When outside the classroom, she enjoys horse riding, rodeo, gardening, and playing with her dog.
