Responsible AI Use in the Classroom

Free Virtual workshop

📅 Date: December 30, 2025 (One Day Only) ⏰ Time:1:00–2:00 PM (MST)

This collaborative virtual series, hosted by MTPLC and Chris Morigeau, seeks to equip educators with the knowledge, strategies, and tools to navigate the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the classroom. The workshop aims to move beyond simply policing AI use and instead foster an environment of transparency, critical thinking, and ethical integration.

Workshop Objectives:
✅ Demystify AI Detection: Educate educators on how AI detectors like GPTZero work, how to accurately interpret their probabilistic results, and understand their limitations to avoid over-reliance.
✅ Develop Effective AI Policies: Provide practical frameworks and real-world case studies to help educators establish clear, fair, and transparent classroom policies regarding acceptable and unacceptable AI use.
✅ Promote AI and Media Literacy: Emphasize the growing importance of teaching students to critically evaluate digital information in an age of AI-generated content and misinformation.
✅ Provide Practical Tools and Assignments: Offer concrete strategies and assignment ideas that are resilient to AI misuse, encourage original student work, and leverage AI as a constructive learning tool.

Facilitator & Bio:
Christopher J. Morigeau
Chris is a strategic leader who's spent his career focused on equity in education, from his work as the Director of Indian Education for All with the state to his current role as a Special Education Teacher. Based in Missoula, he's a lifelong learner and was an early adopter of AI, always curious about how tech can improve learning.
When he's not diving into education policy or geeking out over new tools, you can find him building elaborate Lego sets, planning Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, or debating Star Wars trivia. At home, the adventure continues with his amazing wife (who always encourages him to share his passions with others), their three kids (ages 19, 16, and 4), and two dogs, who all keep life fun and interesting.

⭐ Special Offer for Participants ⭐
All participants will receive a FREE 1-semester subscription to GPTZero Premium — a $100+ value!
This exclusive benefit includes access to advanced AI-detection tools, enhanced writing analysis, and educator-focused reporting features designed to support instructional integrity and responsible AI use in schools.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in high-quality professional learning and receive a valuable digital tool for your classroom at no cost.
