Virtual
🗓️ Monday, October 5, 2026 | 4:00–4:50 PM MT
🗓️ Friday, November 6, 2026 | 9:00–9:50 AM MT

🎥 Both sessions will be recorded.

MTPLC Presents: Supporting Struggling Readers with Neuralign. A FREE virtual professional learning series designed to help Montana educators explore additional approaches for supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, and persistent reading difficulties.

Presented by Paul Howard of Neuralign, these sessions will explore why some students continue to struggle despite strong reading instruction and intervention, the cognitive skills that influence reading development, and how schools can consider additional evidence-based supports for students who aren't making the expected progress.

Designed for classroom teachers, special education teachers, interventionists, literacy specialists, instructional coaches, student services staff, principals, superintendents, and other school professionals, the series combines practical information with opportunities for questions and discussion.

Fall 2026 Neuralign Schedule
🗓️ Monday, October 5, 2026 | 4:00–4:50 PM MT
What Is Neuralign? A New Approach to Reading Intervention
Presenter: Paul Howard, Neuralign

Why do some students continue to struggle with reading even when schools are providing strong instruction and intervention?
Join us for a practical introduction to the cognitive skills that support reading development—including auditory processing, working memory, visual processing, phonemic awareness, timing, and executive function—and how differences in these areas may affect students with dyslexia, ADHD, and persistent reading difficulties.

Participants will also learn about Neuralign's game-based approach to reading intervention, assessment and progress monitoring, examples from Montana schools, and what implementation can look like for teachers and student services teams.

🗓️ Friday, November 6, 2026 | 9:00–9:50 AM MT
The First Report Card Is In — Now What for Struggling Readers?
Presenter: Paul Howard, Neuralign

The first report card is in. For some students, the results show the progress everyone hoped for. For others, it may be another indication that the current approach isn't producing the expected results.

This practical conversation will focus on identifying students who continue to struggle, looking beyond grades to classroom and intervention data, and considering what additional support may help students make meaningful progress.
Participants will explore why some students don't respond as expected to traditional interventions, how cognitive skills can affect reading development, and what schools might try differently. The session will also include real-world examples from Montana schools and practical considerations for adding support without creating a significant burden for teachers and staff.

Important Notes

🎥 Both sessions will be recorded. Recordings and available presentation materials/resources will be shared with registered participants following each workshop.
