Trauma Support Cohort for MT Educators with Stacy York Nation, LCSW
Virtual course
Fall 2025
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Oct. 27, Nov. 12, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, Dec. 8, Dec. 17, 2025
Educators today are facing unprecedented levels of stress and mental health challenges — both personally and in the classroom. As the demands on professional educators continue to grow, it’s essential to provide meaningful support. This cohort offers a safe and supportive space for Montana educators to explore the tough, complex realities of teaching in today’s environment.
Through focused discussions and trauma-informed strategies, participants will gain tools to manage their own stress and better support their students. Together, we’ll build resilience, foster emotional safety, and navigate the challenges of modern education with greater confidence and compassion.
Trauma-informed cohort
Learning is more effective in groups where we can interact with the material and each other. This 6 week cohort will bring educators together to learn, discuss, and practice trauma-informed strategies. Designed to be interactive, each group will be 90 minutes, have one topic to learn, and time to discuss implementation and reflect on the previous week's lesson.
Instructor: Stacy G. York Nation, LCSW, Social Worker
Stacy is a licensed clinical social worker who got her start in school based mental health. She has a small private practice in Colorado and Wyoming. Stacy has spent the last several years traveling the country to train and educate professional educators on trauma-informed care. Stacy completed a grant project with Montana’s OPI that included the completion of a trauma-informed student handbook template. Stacy is familiar with the rural nature of Montana and all that goes with that in trying to meet the needs of a community. Stacy also serves as a Behavioral Health Officer in the Wyoming Army National Guard. This experience has provided Stacy with opportunities to work with higher level officials in problem solving hard, tough system issues.
