Start the new year with a resolution you might actually keep: spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on the work that matters most.

About the Virtual Series

Join the Montana Professional Learning Collaborative (MTPLC) and Montana Digital Academy's Frontier Learning Lab for a practical five-part series designed to help educators use artificial intelligence to make everyday work more manageable.

This is a hands-on, task-focused series. Rather than focusing on AI theory, participants will explore practical ways to use AI to support work they are already doing—drafting communication, organizing meeting notes, working through lengthy documents, making sense of data, and creating reusable prompts and templates.

Throughout the series, the Frontier Learning Lab team will emphasize responsible AI use, privacy, professional judgment, and practical strategies that educators can adapt to their own roles and technology environments.

Session Schedule

Session 1Jan 134–5 PM MT

Clearer Communication in Less Time

Explore practical ways to use AI to support everyday family and staff communication. Participants will practice drafting and revising messages, adjusting tone and reading level, and creating home-language versions while keeping professional judgment at the center of the process.

Session 2Jan 204–5 PM MT

From Meeting Notes to Next Steps

Turn your own meeting notes or transcripts into something useful. Learn strategies for creating concise summaries, identifying action items, organizing responsibilities, and drafting follow-up communication.

Session 3Jan 274–5 PM MT

Long Documents, Made Manageable

Policies, reports, research articles, guidance documents—educators have a lot to read. Explore ways AI can help summarize, organize, compare, and identify key information in lengthy documents while maintaining appropriate review and professional oversight.

Session 4Feb 34–5 PM MT

Spreadsheets and Surveys, Sorted

Explore practical ways to work more efficiently with spreadsheets, surveys, and other data. Participants will learn strategies for cleaning up information, interpreting survey results, identifying patterns, and creating quick tables and charts.

Session 5Feb 104–5 PM MT

Your Own Prompt Toolkit

Bring it all together by developing a personalized collection of reusable prompts and templates for the tasks you complete every week. Participants will leave with practical tools they can adapt and continue using after the series ends.
