Monthly IEFA Professional Development Series: Integrating Indian Education for All
2025 - 2026 This virtual workshop series is thoughtfully designed to support educators in fulfilling Montana’s Indian Education for All (IEFA) requirements. Through engaging, standards-aligned sessions, participants will deepen their understanding of Montana's tribal histories, cultures, and contemporary issues while gaining practical strategies to authentically incorporate Indigenous perspectives across content areas. Each session is facilitated by experienced and knowledgeable presenters who offer culturally responsive resources, classroom-ready materials, and opportunities for reflective practice. Whether you’re new to IEFA or looking to enhance existing efforts, this series provides valuable tools and guidance to enrich instruction, foster inclusive learning environments, and uphold the educational commitments outlined in the Montana Constitution. |
SHINE (School Health Information and Nurse Education)
SHINE is a free monthly virtual education series created by Montana Pediatrics, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving child health across the state. The program supports educators, school nurses, and staff by providing expert-led discussions on topics related to student health, mental wellness, and school-based supports. The SHINE series aims to strengthen the connection between health and education by offering practical, accessible professional learning. It helps equip educators, counselors, administrators, and support staff with the tools to better address student well-being and resilience. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) (90 minutes)
2025-26 School Year Virtual Session Thursday, April 16, 2026 4:00-5:30pm Tamarack Grief Resource Center Facilitators will train attendees in Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize and respond to the warning signs of a suicide crisis using the steps of Question, Persuade and Refer. You will come away empowered with practical tips for communicating openly about suicide and increased comfort discussing mental health. Objectives:
