AP® English Literature and Composition AP English Literature and Composition - APSI Online @ Montana APSI June 17, 2024—June 20, 2024 8:00 AM-4:00 PM MT Instructor: Deirdre Zongker Deirdre Zongker teaches AP English Literature and Composition at Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas, and dual enrollment through Johnson County Community College. She has over fifteen years’ experience teaching AP Literature and has served eight years as an AP Reader. While Deirdre is excited to help teachers navigate the Course and Exam Description (CED), AP Classroom, and scoring the AP exam, her greatest passion is helping other teachers find ways to inspire the love of literature in their own students. She designs her APSIs to not only promote deep insight and understanding of the AP course but also to provide attendees with take-home strategies to use in their classes. Deirdre earned her bachelor’s degree in English and History from Georgetown University, a master’s in English from the University of Kansas, and a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During this AP English Literature and Composition APSI, you’ll explore the course framework, the exam, and the new AP resources that will help you plan and focus instruction—and give you feedback throughout the year on the areas where individual students need additional focus. You’ll also learn about completing the digital activation process at the start of the school year that will give you immediate access to the new resources and will help ensure that your students can register for AP Exams by the new fall deadlines. By attending this APSI, you’ll gain deeper insight into the following key takeaways, among several others: Understand the Course; Plan the Course; Teach the Course; Assess Student Progress; and Engage as a Member of the AP Community.
