AP® World History: Modern AP World History: Modern - APSI Online @ Montana APSI June 17, 2024—June 20, 2024 8:00 AM-4:00 PM MT Instructor: Leslie Keeney Leslie Keeney has been teaching for over 30 years. She began her career as a Peace Corps volunteer, training in West Africa and eventually serving in the Federated States of Micronesia. She has taught in a variety of schools and student populations including Fais Island, Micronesia, Gallup, New Mexico, Savoonga and White Mountain, Alaska and Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Leslie has participated in the AP World History reading since 2006, serving in a variety of leadership roles; she also trains teachers as a College Board consultant, and participates in question writing and content development for ETS. Other professional work includes writing for BYU’s Cultugrams series, writing curriculum for US Academic Decathlon and Pentathlon, and preparing students across the country to take AP Exams with the National Math and Science Initiative. During this AP World History: Modern APSI, you’ll explore the course framework, the exam, and the new AP resources that will help you plan and focus instruction—and give you feedback throughout the year on the areas where individual students need additional focus. You’ll also learn about completing the digital activation process at the start of the school year that will give you immediate access to the new resources and will help ensure that your students can register for AP Exams by the new fall deadlines. By attending this APSI, you’ll gain deeper insight into the following key takeaways, among several others: Understand the Course; Plan the Course; Teach the Course; Assess Student Progress; and Engage as a Member of the AP Community.
